About the Practice

Over two decades in internal medicine and nephrology, with much of that work conducted within the hospital setting. Daily practice meant following patients in advanced stages of kidney and cardiovascular disease — cases in which, often, the trajectory could have been changed years earlier, through routine decisions and more careful monitoring.

Integrative functional medicine is not an alternative to conventional medicine. It is a way of organizing preventive care in a structured way — labs, data, clinical decision-making — directed at what precedes disease.

At Plenya, Dr. Getúlio takes on the role of your managing physician — the clinician who knows your history in depth and oversees your care longitudinally, over months and years. He aligns your plan between Plenya's team and the doctors already caring for you outside the clinic — cardiologist, endocrinologist, gynecologist. Plenya does not replace these relationships: it ensures the clinical continuity of the whole, with someone who is finally looking at you as a whole person.
